Our animals are a big part of our home and our hearts. From feisty felines to dorky dogs, they’re our faithful fur babies who see us through the best and worst of our lives.
If you’re thinking of shopping for your wedding dress in Perth, chances are you’re in the midst of planning for your big day, and you’re probably also thinking “how will my pet fit into all this?”
What am I getting myself into?
The first question you’re going to want to ask yourself is – what exactly ill this look like? You’re going to need to find a way to plan a dog-friendly wedding for example, that is going to be enjoyable not just for you, but for your pet as well.
If you want the best experience for your pet friendly wedding its important to be realistic.
Setting your expectations
To be realistic, our fur babies do come in a variety of sizes and shapes. They all have different personalities and temperaments that need to be considered.
Maybe it’s your ultimate dream to have your fussy cat play a starring role in your ceremony, but is he/she going to be comfortable? Thinking about their needs first is a good starting point for planning.
Some things to consider
Weddings can be overstimulating for humans, let alone cats or dogs!
There will be a tonne of wedding guests, lots of food and drink, live music, loud noises, and probably an endless stream of interactions (tummy rubs and pats to name a few). This is a sensory overload, and in some cases, it could be quite scary for some animals.
Planning and logistics are important factors here. Decide with your partner which parts of the wedding you’d like to have your pet included in, and which parts will hold the most significance for you both. Playing to your pets strengths will help them be part of your day without making any sacrifices to their enjoyment!
