What is a micro wedding?
Micro weddings as they sound resolve around the scale and numbers that form the wedding. Thus, the ‘micro wedding’ being smaller in size and attendance.
Keep on reading to find out why a micro wedding is the perfect idea or alternative.
What's the difference between a micro wedding and elopement?
However, don’t get a micro wedding confused with an elopement, as they are both very different to each other. A Micro Wedding involves up to a maximum of 30 guests, usually close family and friends. Whereas an elopement involves only the couple and wedding official.
More often than not a micro wedding will include many features of a larger more traditional wedding, only this time scaled down having more of an intimate and relaxed vibe.
1. More venue options
A more intimate and smaller wedding allows for further venue options to open up. As the wedding will be smaller you can now consider places you didn’t think of prior to planning your wedding. You can now consider venues such as bars and smaller establishments.
Don’t worry! If you’ve got your eye on a venue that caters to large traditional weddings, reach out and get in contact with them as a majority of larger venues usually cater to small events too, so don’t give up on your dream venue when having a micro wedding.

What’s great about saving money is that you can either save it?! or spend it?! on other aspects of your wedding, to ensure all your dreams come true on your special day. Why not upgrade and get yourself a professional photographer?! or maybe even a fairytail wedding dress?! the options are endless for what you can spend your saved cash on.
3. Reduce stress
We know just how stressful weddings are especially the traditional 150+ wedding guest kind can be. Thats why a micro wedding is so beneficial, as they are smaller and require less planning. Allowing you to put your focus on the things that really matter to you.
4. Obey Covid restrictions
Many couples across the world who have planned to get married during the covid-19 pandemic have found that a micro wedding has been the perfect alternative to the traditional kind. As it perfectly allows your guests space to socially distance and be safe.
5. More quality time with your loved ones
Having a traditional wedding can mean you have 150+ guests that you need to quickly mingle with in the space of a day. It seems impossible doesn’t it?! Well less guests mean you can spend quality time with each and everyone of your favourite people, more time for the people you love and those who love you.
